Rhoda (Kindness Challenge) helps teams track acts of kindness in Slack. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Workspace & app install info: Slack team ID, workspace name, bot user ID, and bot token obtained via OAuth.
• Configuration you set: channel ID, start/end dates, goal.
• Submission content you choose to post via /kindness: the description and optional prayer request text (posted in your channel; we don’t store a separate database of posts).
• Operational logs: minimal function logs for reliability (no message bodies are deliberately logged).

How we use data

• Operate the app: open modals, post messages, and show progress.
• Store per-workspace install/config in Netlify Blobs to keep each workspace isolated.

Where data is stored

Per-workspace install/config data is stored in Netlify Blobs (region per Netlify’s platform). Slack messages live in your Slack workspace.

Retention

Install/config data persists until you remove the app or request deletion. You can reset a season at any time using /kindness-reset.

Security

Access to your workspace occurs via a Slack OAuth bot token. Tokens and config are stored server-side and not hard-coded in code. Limit who can install/manage apps in your Slack workspace.

Your choices

• Use anonymity in submissions when desired.
• Uninstall the app from Slack at any time.
• Request data deletion for your workspace by contacting us.
